]]> The 10″ that thinks it’s a 12″. This speaker was developed to recapture the legendary sound of Celestion’s 1970s 10s – a 10″ speaker with a surprisingly meaty tone.
Low in output but with the weighty low-end balance of a 12″, the G10 Greenback features a complex, creamy mid-range and smooth, vintage top-end.
In small combos this speaker adds real class, and when combined in a 4×10 gives rise to a raunchy, full-bodied tone, rich in low-end thump.

The G10 Greenback is a 10-inch guitar loudspeaker capable of delivering classic rock tone.

By performing extensive listening tests with 10-inch Celestion ceramic drivers from the late 60s onwards, as well as drawing on the experience gained from the development of the original G12M Greenback, Celestion design engineers have created a speaker that
remains faithful to the sonic spirit of the Greenback family. It has the same warm- bodied character and delivers tone like the distinctive ‘sports-car growl’ that is the trademark of the original 12-inch G12M ‘Greenback’.

Featuring a new eight hole chassis that’s more versatile for upgrades, the new G10 has been built with its own green can, which should leave no-one in any doubt of this remarkable speaker’s family history. The G10 Greenback truly is a contemporary speaker with a vintage pedigree.

]]> Throughout his career, EVH has sought out original Celestion 20-watt Greenback speakers to load into his recording and performing rigs. So, when designing the EVH 5150III it was to Celestion that EVH and Fender turned in search of that vintage Greenback sound.

Celestion’s Heritage Series G12M speakers are a faithful reproduction of the original 1960s 20-watt Greenback and for EVH they provide the ideal solution. However – in order to give this speaker a look that is unmistakeably EVH – we’ve added a specially designed label, featuring the Van Halen logo and unique EVH striped design, along with a black-painted can that evokes the memory of the rare and much sought after Celestion ‘Blackback’ speakers.
